RODENT habits
Understanding Rodent Behavior
Rodents are highly adaptable pests that pose serious threats to residential health and structural integrity. Recognizing their key habits is vital for effective exclusion.
- Nocturnal Activity — Active primarily at night, making early detection vital.
- Wall Nesting — Preference for nesting deep in wall cavities and insulation.
- Contamination — Spreading bacteria and viruses via droppings and urine.
Autumn & Winter Influx
As outdoor temperatures drop, rodents actively seek warmth, nesting materials, and reliable food sources inside wall cavities.
Year-Round Breeding
Mice and rats breed exponentially throughout the year. A minor infestation can quickly escalate to hundreds of active pests.
PROTECT YOUR HOME & FAMILY
The Real Risks of Rodent Infestation
Rats and mice are far more than a simple nuisance. Left untreated, they present immediate hazards to your physical health, structural safety, and peace of mind.
1. Property Damage
Rodents gnaw continuously on support beams, plumbing pipes, and live electrical wires. This compromises your home’s structural stability and presents an immediate electrical fire hazard.
2. Health Risks
Rats and mice carry up to 35 dangerous diseases, including Salmonella, Leptospirosis, and Hantavirus. Microscopic pests like fleas, ticks, and mites also hitchhike inside on their fur.
3. Rapid Infestation
A single female mouse can produce up to 10 litters a year. Because of their brief gestation periods, what starts as two rodents nesting behind a cabinet can grow into hundreds in weeks.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Your Rodent Safety & Exclusion Guide
We believe in complete transparency when it comes to keeping your family safe. Discover how our eco-conscious, pet-safe baiting protocols and permanent exclusion techniques keep pests out of your home for good.
Have a specific concern?
Our certified pest specialists are ready to walk you through our secure rodent protection plan.
Is your rodent baiting safe for my dogs and cats?
Yes, absolutely. We prioritize your pets’ safety by using heavy-duty, tamper-resistant bait stations that are securely anchored in place. These stations can only be opened with a special key, ensuring that curious dogs or cats cannot access the bait. Additionally, we choose specialized bait options formulated to minimize the risk of secondary poisoning.
What is rodent exclusion and how does it work?
Exclusion is the process of physically blocking rodents from entering your home. Instead of relying solely on baits, we inspect your home from foundation to roofline and seal any entry points (even as small as a dime) using premium, chew-proof materials like copper mesh, stainless steel, and heavy-duty sealants. It is a permanent, non-toxic preventative solution.
How long does it take to get rid of rodents?
Typically, you will see a significant drop in activity within the first 3 to 5 days of treatment. For full eradication and complete sealing (exclusion), it generally takes between 7 to 14 days, depending on the scale of the initial infestation. We monitor progress closely to ensure complete success.
Do you use traps inside our living spaces?
We do not place loose traps in areas where your children or pets can access them. Inside living areas, we exclusively place traps inside locked, low-profile monitoring boxes or hidden deep within wall voids, cabinets, or crawl spaces that are completely inaccessible to your family and pets.
What should I do to prepare for my treatment?
Please avoid cleaning up active droppings or nests right before we arrive, as these provide critical clues on rodent pathways and entry points. We also recommend clearing space under sinks, pantries, and crawl spaces so our technician has quick, unobtrusive access to primary utility areas.
